The Phiwoboa at the Zoo

I'm putting Hazel to bed, we are doing our daily recap.

"What did you see at the Zoo today?" I ask.

"I saw the Phiwoboa."

"A Philowoboa? Say it again."

"A Philowoboa. A Philowoboa is a special rabbit with sharp hooves, it is brown and very soft. It eats figs, buggy bugs and grass. The Philoboa runs so fast. I saw 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and they are so cute. They are very sweet and you can pet them on the head. They have floppy ears and horns. They scratch the the ground. They are like elephants and they jump very high."

She is still talking to herself in bed as I write this. Who knows what other creatures she imagines.

A Dip in the Rockies

Some overdue pics from our Summer hike in Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park. Mills Lake was crystal clear and c-c-c-cold! Hazel wanted to dip again and again.

Over breakfast this morning Hazel says "Hello my name is Kitty Cat. I live in Hong Kong and vote for McCain in a floating restaurant. Do you want some apple pie?"
